That is one for believe it or not!
A less complete Spartan Helmet was found by archeologist digging in Crete. During the dig a Spartan Helmet fragment believed to date from the 6th century BC was unearthed. The extensive engraving covering the fragment tends to indicate that it was the property of a more senior military officer.
When searching for an early 5th century BC Persian Armada sunk by stormy weather before reaching its destination, archeologists also chanced upon two Spartan Helmets off the coast of Northern Greece.
And, in a comprehensive search and find in Athens, graves of 20 warriors were found, who were all buried with their Spartan Helmet, iron swords and knives.
